I’ve been compensated by #CollectiveBias, Inc. and Hallmark #ValueCards. All opinions are mine alone.
Even though I’m not currently getting ready every morning to go to school and the colder months are upon us, I still get super excited every time back-to-school season rolls around.
Growing up in Colombia, back-to-school was HUGE–at least in my family, where I was the only child. I always enjoyed getting new supplies because of the promise they held. So imagine my delight when Hallmark invited me to go ahead and enjoy back-to-school season on them. The only condition: Use one of our greeting cards to make it cool!
Now I understand why kids these days (or always) would disagree with me, because, granted, I’ve always loved school and learning–and more so when I have new shiny tools to accompany me as I prepare to take over my year.
That’s why I’d like to show y’all some basic things you can get to ensure the success of the student in your life during this upcoming school year. Because remember: It’s better to congratulate kids on the process used to arrive at an answer than to congratulate their actual answer, according to science at least.
Many of you know I’m getting ready for grad school, and this requires some good, ol’ fashioned standardized exam prepping.
*Yawn.*
HOWEVER, how would the student in your life (standardized exam or not) react when given the following EXAM PREP SURVIVAL KIT (tailored, of course, to their individual preferences):
I know, right? Just what did I include to make my kit work for me that much better? Pay attention because these basics are vital:
• A protein bar for nourishment; a weekly planer to safeguard my sanity, and an analog watch for preptest timing.
• Flash cards for quick notes, pencils for, well, you know, and a great movie (because, breaks)
• A binder for storage, a notebook for vital notes, highlighters for keeping track, and a cute pencil case for smileys.
And last but certainly not least because it’s my pièce de resistance: A greeting card from Hallmark that congratulates your student’s awesomeness. The one I got (ahem, for myself) says: “Congratulations | You’re a shining example of what it takes to succeed.“
(Why, thank you, I know ;).)
Plus, if you’re like me and enjoy basing an entire survival/date/care/deployment kit off one card, you’ll be pleased to know not only that Hallmark Value has TONS of $0.47-$0.97 card options(!), but also that you can create AS MANY kits as you want because the Hallmark Card Reward Program gives you a reward for every five cards you buy at Walmart. So basically you get both warm fuzzies when gifting a kit to a loved one and compensated for doing so!
So go down to your nearest Walmart and start making the student, military member, and/or sweetie in your life a fantastic kit they’ll treasure forever. (FYI- Most of the items pictured above can be found in the Back-to-School aisles.) Just make sure to get inspired by a Hallmark Value card first because believe me, it helps!
“
Have YOU ever made anyone (you count, too!) a kit or gift basket of any kind? What was it like?

Hey doll!! Yes, this wristwatch is amazing. I especially like its rotating bezel that lets me see how much time it’s been on a specific section on the exam I’ve been prepping for. So handy!
Thanks for stopping by!!
