U by Kotex Fits, Period. (Spon)

Even though we lady bloggers all depend on them, feminine products simply don’t get the attention they deserve in blogland. OK, OK, you’re right. Maybe they should stay OUT of the limelight.

But I’d like to make an exception to talk to y’all about U by Kotex.

This is the bigger box I bought after running out of pads from the small box I was provided for free.

You see, my dates with “TOM”* began when I was 12. We were on vacation and if there’s one thing a girl DOESN’T need while on vacation is TOM. But oh well. From that moment on, I dealt with it and I started using pads. (FYI, Colombian girls don’t wear tampons. And 12 years later, I still don’t.) And for over a decade I’ve been using a particular kind of pad–bulky, thick, and just plain uncomfortable.

And suddenly I stopped dreading my dates with TOM. I don’t know if you realize this but bulky pads require special types of panties–I called mine “period panties.” I hated those m-effers like you couldn’t imagine; basically, they were like spanx and short bike shorts all in one.

In fact, my absolute favorite part about these things is that while they have a four-layer absorbency system to ensure coverage, they’re still SO skinny and actually comfortable! By now you must be thinking: “Skinny pads don’t protect,” and I’ll tell you you’re dead WRONG. I mean I used to think the exact same thing, but thanks to U by Kotex, I now know that skinny pads are where it’s at. (Either that, or my flow obviates the need for bulky pads.) In other words, I felt confident because I knew and felt that no matter how much I moved, I’d be OK. And you know what? I totally have been!
