What do you get when you straighten your hair chemically and then the original hair you were missing grows back?
Hard to say, but in my case, it wasn’t gorgeous. Or at least it stopped being gorgeous once I began focusing on the fact that I had about three inches of straight hair that just would NOT curl when I applied mousse post-shower in my attempt to have the whole thing look wavy/curly. That, I learned, was in vain, because while the top 4/5 looked cute and curly, the bottom 1/5 looked like it didn’t belong–much like extensions :|
So because summer is somewhat almost finished and because I realized that those last few inches needed to JUST GO, I decided to get a haircut!
A little back-story: For some reason I honestly can’t remember now, I had gotten my hair cut to right between my ears and my neck during my Sophomore year in high school (i.e., a long time ago). Since then, I’ve just let my hair grow to a length I was pretty happy with. And even though my hair tends to fortunately grow back at a healthy rate, I was still way nervous at having my hair short yet again. (Although for the record, if I were even a bit more ballsy and didn’t work out [and thus sweat] every day, I’d probably get one of those cute uneven bobs. I might at some point–prolly when I’m in my 40s+ though!)
And here’s how it turned out:
Don’t mind the random electrical outlet. Also pardon the blurriness–apparently Photo Booth thinks it’s OK :$ |
Not too bad, right? I kind of like it. I may miss my long hair (funny what a difference three inches can make!) and I may not have fully absorbed its new length, but I’m pretty happy nevertheless. : ) NOW I need to showcase it soon–a fair, a night out on the town, whatever. Oh but it’s not almost the weekend yet!
What do you think? And have you had any (mini) makeovers ever or even lately?
