You know that feeling you get when you’re ready to try a new razor? (Go with me on this.) When I get a new razor, I’m always kind of excited that I get to try something new, like maybe something that I’ve been missing out on. BUT as excited as I get, I’m also always kinda doubtful super careful because new razors freak. me. out. Ugh, nothing scares me more as potentially getting a tiny cut on whatever part of my body might be visible that day (thankfully, my legs remain hidden in the cooler months!).
Anyways, as you may know, I’m not high-maintenance in the beauty department at all. In fact, when I find something I like, I’ll tend to stick with it until I’m convinced I should replace it for whatever reason. And razors totally fit in that category; in fact, I had been using another brand of non-disposable razors ever since I first started shaving.
Which is why I was pleasantly surprised by the new Hydro Silk® razor by Schick:
– The moisturizing film is so nourishing, you guys! It offers crazy hydration and yields a super gentle shave with or without any additional soap or body wash, which is great for that one time you happen to run out of those things (though Schick does recommend you use them!). Now bear in mind these films do run out, but so far (I’ve had mine for a couple weeks), so good. The shave is also a pretty close one, which allows me to let at least a day go by before I have to shave the same area again.
– The handle is very comfortable too! I didn’t know how good it felt UNTIL I grabbed my old non-disposable razor and compared their grips. And lo and behold, this one was, by far, the best of the two as it curves just like my hand does when shaving my legs.
Overall, I’ve been enjoying this razor and I highly recommend it (this is something I don’t say about many things), which is funny b/c I’ve been a fan of the old brand for years, but now I doubt I’ll go back.
