My makeup-removal routine is NO exception. In fact, all I usually use for this task is generic lotion and some tissues or toilet paper (gasp!) to take it all away and voilà, I’m set. It’s quite efficient (tho a bit painful)…
As you’ve also heard me say before, despite my “economical” makeup habits, I like trying out new things to make my routine even more special BUT my college-student budget (and schedule) makes this somewhat difficult.
Enter Aveeno’s Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads. (Even my mom’s a fan!!)
Again, when it comes to makeup, I’m relatively low-maintenance, for some reason. I mean, even though I like it to look pretty, I usually don’t pay TOO MUCH attention to how my face looks either with makeup or without. Well, at least not now in my early 20s.
MY MAKEUP BACK STORY
As you may remember, I attended an all-girls private school while growing up in Colombia. This made it so that I never even needed to worry about makeup for two reasons: 1) It wasn’t allowed (yes, seriously); and 2) there weren’t any boys, which meant that none of us would need any extra “work” or get any extra attention because we were all pretty much equally awesome.
But it all changed when we moved to the States: Suddenly I started noticing that girls had a bit of color on their cheeks, the areas under their eyes weren’t as dark, and that their lashes seemed darker and fuller. Hm…
So I gave in to the nonexistent peer pressure and started wearing blush. And I felt prettier. : )
Then somewhere around the time I was in high school (maybe after my Junior (?) year, judging by my yearbook pictures), I discovered under-eye concealer. Hallelujah! And then (maybe during my Senior year or once I was in College?), I started wearing some bronzer here and there, the occasional eye shadow, powder foundation, etc., to introduce some variety.
And that’s when I thought I was done experimenting. Finally, I had a pretty easy routine to follow and good products to settle on for the rest of my life (excluding special occasions, obviously, which absolutely warrant some liquid foundation, more mascara and shadow, etc.).
Wow, I just realized how easy guys have it! :P
REVIEW
Which is why Aveeno’s Daily Cleansing Pads couldn’t have arrived at a better time. Sure, they don’t add any makeup but they sure make removing it SUCH a breeze! I think these cleansing pads were, like all of Aveeno’s products (as I’ve discovered), designed for us gals who aren’t fuzzy about their makeup routines.
No more rubbing my face so hard with lotion and toilet paper!
Overall, my mom and I have found these cleansing pads to be very effective! They do what they’re supposed to do easily and at a fraction of the cost of those other overpriced cleansing pads.
Remembered how much I loved the multitasking abilities of Aveeno’s tinted moisturizer, moisturizing lotion, and shampoo/conditioner duo? Well, these cleansing pads are such accomplished multitaskers too! Not only do they help you to remove your makeup easily, but they also even remove excess grease and non-makeup-related dirt. They’re almost magical…
We’ve also liked how gentle they are with our eyes. Usually, to remove mascara or eye shadow, I have to use a LOT of lotion. But with these cleansing pads, I just swipe them once from left to right and once back again, and I’m good to go! No tears, no makeup stuck inside my eye, and no roughness.
I’ve really liked them and I’m sure you would too.
FYI
These cleansing pads are oil-free, soap-free, noncomedogenic and hypoallergenic.
