Hola y bienvenidos al primer episodio de ADVENTURES IN SPANISH!
I’m so excited to have you around and in case you were wondering, no, this show won’t be 100% in Spanish.
I mean, the stories, fables, news, etc. that I’ll be reading ARE in Spanish, so about 80-90% of each episode will be in Spanish. That is because I strongly believe in the power of submerging yourself in another language so that you can learn it better because, well, you have NO choice but to interact with it!
However, any interjections or commentary from me, short translations, etimologies, or hints I offer won’t be in Spanish (at least not in the beginning) because I don’t want you to get frustrated that you can’t understand a single thing!
So here’s more about the show, OK?
Its main goal is truly to submerge you in the Spanish language via different stories in Spanish so that you’re better able to become fully bilingual and fluent in one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.
The stories we’ll go over come from different places, but all are in Spanish. Some are the translated versions of popular American tales, while others are native to Latin America. Some are articles in Spanish about recent American happenings or technology, while others are tales that either the host wrote or you, the listeners, wrote and submitted. Just like the Spanish-speaking culture, this podcast is quite diverse!
Now WHO is this show for? Well, I’m glad you asked! In short, it’s for everyone. No, really. Everyone and anyone who wants to learn more Spanish will find themselves enjoying what I have going on here.

The Challenge: Name that story!
Now, towards the end of the episode, I tell listeners part of a popular story in Spanish and challenge them to tell me what the story is about and to name it if they know that. I won’t reveal what it is here. Instead, this is the site where you should send me your answer: @podinspanish on Twitter.
Listen below and tell me: I think you’ll get it in no time!
Let me know what you thought of the episode and I’ll catch up with you later. Chao!
